I took over the streets of Paris to explore some hidden gems and uncover a few spots that caught my eye along the way. From quirky bookstores to stunning art exhibitions, there’s always something unexpected waiting around the corner in this city. So, I’m here to share some of those must-visit places with you—trust me, you won’t want to miss these! Let’s dive into my Parisian adventures!

I recently found myself wandering the charming streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés when I stumbled upon a hidden gem:

Librairie Alain Brieux.
At first glance, it seemed like just another old bookstore, but trust me, this place is far from ordinary. Stepping inside felt like entering a quirky universe filled with strange wonders—from ancient scientific books and rare medical texts to an unexpected abundance of preserved insects. Yes, bugs. Lots of bugs. Encased in glass, frozen in odd poses, they were everywhere. Honestly, I didn’t expect a bug collection to be a highlight of my day, but it was oddly fascinating.
But what really blew my mind was the heart of a moth, displayed in grand scale. It was like staring at nature's own artwork—beautiful and slightly eerie. Founded by Alain Brieux, an expert in rare scientific instruments, this bookstore feels more like a museum. Whether you're a fan of science, history, or just enjoy the odd and offbeat, this place is a must-visit. It’s a place where knowledge and curiosity collide in the most unexpected ways, and you never know what quirky treasures you'll discover next.

Discover La Collecterie: Montreuil’s Coolest Eco-Hub
If you're ever wandering around Montreuil, just outside Paris, you’ve got to check out La Collecterie. This place is a hidden gem—part second-hand shop, part creative community hub, and 100% eco-friendly. It’s all about giving new life to old stuff, with a huge selection of second-hand clothing, refurbished furniture, and all sorts of quirky finds.
I stumbled upon it one day while exploring, and let me tell you, I was hooked from the start. The vibe is chill, and there's this cool mix of creativity and sustainability that makes you feel good about supporting the place. The items here have a unique story, and each corner is packed with treasures waiting to be discovered. Whether you're looking to refresh your wardrobe or add a little personality to your home, La Collecterie has something for everyone.
What makes it even better? It’s not just about shopping—it’s about supporting a place that fosters social inclusion and gives back to the community. La Collecterie is doing great work, helping people find employment and empowering them to contribute positively to society. So, when you shop here, you're not just scoring some cool finds, you’re helping to make the world a little better too.
Those were my two favorite spots I visited this month, I hope you get to enjoy them the way I did.
See you on the next one!
